JAMES Nesbitt is aiming to keep his status as a mane man on screen by going for a SIXTH hair transplant.

The Cold Feet star didn’t take long to mullet over – he reckons there’ll be more than fringe benefits careerwise to yet another barnet boost costing up to £20,000.

Sources say he’s been telling pals about his plans after openly talking about previous treatments.

James, 54, has seen his lead

roles rise since parting with £100,000 on transplants so far. He said earlier this year: “I began losing hair several years ago. I felt it could affect my career.”

In another interview the Northern Irish star said his transplants “had an impact. In terms of the range of leading roles I’ve had since then it’s probably helped.” He uses Dublinbased firm Hair Restoration Blackrock. His most recent one was on his crown. The company’s website says: “All together James has had over 10,000 grafts in a 10-year period. With an average two hairs in each graft that is over 20,000 hairs.”

In 2017, James said. “The guy who does it is a genius. It’s not cheap, probably 20 grand.” He even persuaded Strictly dancer Anton Du Beke to have a transplant.

The news comes as James and his ITV Cold Feet co-stars won rave reviews for the recent series which ended last week. His agent did not respond to a request for comment.
