LOVE Is­land star Mike Tha­las­si­tis has been found dead in woods near his home – leav­ing fam­ily, friends and TV fans shocked.

The 26-year-old had split from his Towie star girl­friend Megan McKenna, 26, last July and was said to be “bro­ken” af­ter watch­ing her move on.

Known af­fec­tion­ately as Muggy Mike on the re­al­ity dat­ing show, friends said he was also griev­ing af­ter his best friend died on Christ­mas Eve.

And the ex-foot­baller suf­fered fur­ther heartache when the beloved 94-year-old nan he was carer for passed away soon af­ter.

His body was found near his home at Loughton, Es­sex, on Fri­day, his agent con­firmed.

“This has come as a com­plete shock,” a fam­ily friend said. “No one was pre­pared for this.” Love Is­land host Caro­line Flack said: “Mike, you were a to­tal gen­tle­man. I won’t for­get that.

“It’s so sad. You will be missed. RIP.”

Show ri­val Jonny Mitchell – who stayed friends – said he was: “Heart­bro­ken. I gen­uinely can’t be­lieve what I’m see­ing here. My boy from the villa and one of my best mates. An ab­so­lute hero and a leg­end and some­one I per­son­ally looked up to – al­ways full of so much pos­i­tiv­ity and charisma.

“One of the best peo­ple I’ve ever known taken from us far too soon. I’m heart­bro­ken and can’t put into words how much I’m gonna miss you, bro.”

Fel­low con­tes­tant Chris Hughes said: “Every inch of my heart goes out to his fam­ily and friends. A good guy taken far, far too soon.” Friend and for­mer Towie star Ferne McCann, 28, said: “So so so so sad. Mike you ab­so­lute gent.”

Tyla Carr – who cou­pled up with Mike on the show – said: “I can’t be­lieve the call I’ve just had. Mike, you were loved by all the Love is­land fam­ily.”

Calum Best, who ap­peared on the celeb ver­sion of the show, tweeted: “That’s so sad, RIP Mike . Way too young .”

Mike, who found fame in se­ries 3 of the ITV2 show in 2017, got his nick­name af­ter be­com­ing in­volved in sev­eral love tri­an­gles on the show.

He was said to have made more than £1mil­lion from per­sonal ap­pear­ances.

A pal said at the time: “He even got a six-fig­ure sum for ap­pear­ing on Celebs Go Dat­ing.”

A friend re­vealed “be­sot­ted” Mike had re­cently tried to win ex-girl­friend Megan back.

“He wanted to get back with her,” they said. “Mike was dev­as­tated that that didn’t hap­pen.”

He had just opened a break­fast restau­rant called The Skil­let with friend and ex-foot­baller Scott Neil­son as a “fresh start.”

Po­lice have not yet re­leased fur­ther de­tails of Mike’s death.
