Liberation Square

Sunday Mirror (Northern Ireland) - - Staying In -

Gareth Rubin Michael Joseph. Out now London 1952, but not as we know it… This richly imagined thriller is set in an alternate past, when Britain was occupied by Nazi Germany – and liberation by the US and the Russians led to a city controlled by both, divided by a wall. In the Soviet territory, young school teacher Jane fights back when her husband is arrested for the murder of his first wife Lorelei, a glamorous star of Marxist propaganda films. Setting out to clear him brings her into conflict with the shadowy figures who keep a rigid control on society. Tightly plotted, tense and set in a chillingly plausible world.
