Man critically ill in hospital after house stabbing
Three arrested after ‘serious incident’
A MAN was in critical condition in hospital last night after an alleged stabbing at a house.
Three other people were treated by doctors after the “serious incident” in Crumlin, Co Antrim, yesterday.
Paramedics took three men in their 20s and a female teenager to Antrim Area Hospital following a report of a “stabbing” at an address in Cairn Walk in the early hours.
Police revealed yesterday they had arrested three men and two of them had been treated in hospital. Detective Inspector Michelle Griffin said: “At 2.50am we received a report of a stabbing incident at an address in the Cairn Walk area.
“Three men aged in their 20s and a woman were taken to hospital for treatment.
“Two of the men remain in hospital, one of them is in a critical condition.
“I want to appeal to anyone who was in the Cairn Walk area at around 2.50am and has information which may assist our investigation to contact detectives by calling the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 141 of 27/04/19.”
Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesman John McPoland said they sent three crews to the scene. Sinn Fein councillor Anne Marie Logue told the Mirror: “There’s a great sense of shock in the area that this has happened on our doorstep and that four people have been taken to hospital.
“People are just very worried. At this time the thoughts of the community are with the family members of those who are injured.”
DUP South Antrim representatives Paul Girvan MP, Pam Cameron MLA and Trevor Clarke MLA echoed the PSNI appeal and added their thoughts are with those involved.
