MLA goes into labour at count

A DUP MLA went into labour while at one of the coun­cil elec­tion counts.

Carla Lock­hart, MLA for Up­per

Bann, was present in Ban­bridge sup­port­ing col­leagues run­ning for Ar­magh, Ban­bridge and Craigavon Coun­cil on Fri­day when her new­born de­cided to make his ar­rival.

The politi­cian made it to

Craigavon Area Hospi­tal and gave birth to son Char­lie that night.

Last night she tweeted: “So my day yes­ter­day got very in­ter­est­ing... at the ABC Count in Ban­bridge my lit­tle bun­dle de­cided it was time to make an en­try.

“Left at lunch-time for a speedy jour­ney to Craigavon

Area Hospi­tal and at 8.15pm Char­lie was born weigh­ing a

tiny 6lb 3oz.”
