MPs rap BBC for axing Have I Got News over guest Heidi
CHANGE UK is complaining to the BBC after it dropped Friday’s Have I Got News For You.
Bosses canned it 15 minutes before broadcast because leader Heidi Allen was on the panel.
They feared that would put them in breach of election rules so close to May 23rd’s EU poll.
Change campaign chief Chris
Leslie yesterday sent an angry
HOST Heidi Allen letter to BBC chief Lord Hall saying: “Your decision raises serious concerns.”
The MP cited the run up to the EU election in 2014 when the Brexit Party’s Nigel Farage, then leading UKIP, was allowed to appear on the show. Mr Leslie also grumbled that Change have been left out of a BBC Wales debate today.
He said: “People need a chance to hear from the full range of parties standing in the European elections.”
