Bike­bomber­hunt af­ter­bak­ery­blast

PO­LICE are hunt­ing this sus­pect af­ter 13 peo­ple in­clud­ing an eight-year-old girl were in­jured in a blast out­side a bak­ery.

He fled on a moun­tain bike af­ter drop­ping a sack or suit­case con­tain­ing screws and bolts out­side the bak­ery in Lyon, France.

It ex­ploded at teatime on Fri­day, smash­ing into the legs of passers-by.

Eleven vic­tims went to hos­pi­tal but no in­juries were life-threat­en­ing.

Anti-ter­ror of­fi­cers are prob­ing the at­tack near the bak­ery, part of the Bri­oche Doree chain, as France pre­pared to vote in Euro elec­tions. The moun­tain bike sus­pect seen on CCTV is in his early 30s and wore light-coloured shorts and dark top.

Mayor De­nis Broliquier said: “An eight-year-old girl was wounded but we are fairly re­lieved be­cause ap­par­ently there were no se­ri­ous in­juries.”
