Plea to mum as tot is left near hospital

Sunday Mirror (Northern Ireland) - - News -

POLICE are looking for the mother of a newborn baby who was found abandoned by the doors of a hospital.

The child was taken in by hospital staff and was said to be doing well under the care of nurses.

But officers said they were anxious to trace the mother, who might be in need of medical help.

The baby was left at the entrance to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, Kent, in the early hours of Friday.

Det Supt Gavin Moss said: “It is really important we locate the mother to ensure she is safe. I would like to stress this is about ensuring the mother’s wellbeing, there is nothing to fear in coming forward.”
