Nude French miss takes a Liberty in the fountain

NOT since Anita Ekberg took a dip in Rome’s Trevi Fountain for the film La Dolce Vita has Italy got in such a tizz about a woman getting wet and wild.

A French tourist spotted skinny-dipping in a fountain in Milan’s Piazza Liberty was reported by affronted locals. “I didn’t think it was forbidden,” protested the twentysomething mademoiselle, who faces charges of public obscenity.

Bathing in historic fountains is strictly forbidden and can lead to fines of several hundred euros.

She may have been had better luck on a staycation — France is the world’s leading nudist destination, with 3.5 million regular practitioners a year.
