Airport chaos as check-in IT system fails
HUNDREDS of passengers faced long delays yesterday at Manchester Airport airport due to an IT failure.
Huge queues formed as people were unable to check in for their flights.
Airport bosses said they were investigating and would provide updates.
A spokesman said: “Our teams are working hard to rectify the problem. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused.”
Among those caught up in the chaos was former England football manager Sam Allardyce, 64, who was spotted looking frustrated along with other passengers.
One passenger said at the airport yesterday: “It’s heaving and everyone is fuming. There have been no refreshments handed out and no information.”
