Jail for arson gang nailed by Lucozade
A LUCOZADE bottle used by a petrol bomb gang led to four men being jailed – after an arsonist’s DNA was found on the spout.
The bottle, which had contained petrol, was found outside a torched house in Leigh, Wigan.
A gran in her 60s suffered life-changing injuries in the blaze.
It came two days after another arson attack in Huyton, Merseyside.
Jake Hignett, 22, Andrew Bamford, 37, Zana Ali, 35, and Neil Stanton, 41, admitted arson and were each jailed at Manchester Crown Court for between eight and 16 years.
Det Chief Insp Stuart Wilkinson said the gang’s “brutality knew no bounds”, adding: “People’s lives and homes were destroyed in these fires.”
