Ole target message to United

- From STEVE BATES in Singapore

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER ‘won’t bear grudges’ if Manchester United don’t deliver his transfer targets.

The Norwegian (above) insists he will not throw his toys out of the pram if United come up short when the transfer window closes next month.

Solskjaer said: “My job is, of course, to manage the circumstances and the squad that I have got.

“But people will tell you I’m not angry for very long. The players know when I am angry, but we get it sorted and move on. I’m the

same with my kids. Of course I have my targets – but I won’t bear grudges if I don’t get them. The club know my views on what we need.”

Former boss Jose Mourinho criticised Ed Woodward and the club for failing to buy the players he wanted last summer.

But United seem in no hurry to sell Romelu Lukaku (right) after rejecting Inter Milan’s £54million bid yesterday. And Leicester are resigned to losing Harry Maguire with Premier League champions Manchester City also in the hunt for the England star.

United have had two bids – thought to be around £60m with add-ons taking the deal to nearly £70m – but the Foxes are holding out for £80m.

Solskjaer added: “For me it’s natural to leave negotiations and that side of the business to the ones who have that responsibility.

“My responsibility now is to manage the players and to give my view on which players could improve us, which I have done.”

Solskjaer is desperate for new faces as he attempts to make United Champions League contenders next season.

He said: “It is a greater challenge. It’s more of a competitive league.

“There’s six teams there – Arsenal, us, Tottenham, City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

“It’s tougher and more difficult and more competitive getting players.”
