Sunday Mirror (Northern Ireland) - - NEWS - BY KAREN ROCKETT

A HUGE brawl broke out at 2am in a cruise ship’s restaurant with passengers hurling plates and furniture – because a guest dressed up as a CLOWN.

Families fled and several staff were hurt trying to break up the fight on P&O’s Britannia – which has a no fancy dress rule – soon after it left Bergen, Norway, for the UK.

Good Morning Britain’s Richard Gaisford, who was on board, said violence broke out at a black tie event with “large amounts of alcohol consumed. There was blood everywhere. Witnesses were so frightened they hid as family groups fought”.

The ship docked in Southampton yesterday. P&O said: “All guests have disembarked and the matter is in the hands of police.” Two men aged 43 and 41 from Chigwell, Essex, were arrested.
