WE JUST TOLD PLAYERS TO DO WHAT THEY WERE DOING

Sunday Mirror (Northern Ireland) - - Kerry Tyrone - BY PAT NOLAN

JIM GAVIN insisted the “slate is wiped clean” for all his players despite last night’s runaway win.

Experienced defenders Cian O’Sullivan and

Philly McMahon were left on the bench while the likes of Bernard Brogan and Rory O’Carroll couldn’t even make the matchday 26.

Gavin said: “The slate is wiped clean after today, the performance was a collective group preparing and getting the team ready. Just because a player isn’t here on match day doesn’t mean that doesn’t influence his team-mates. They do.

“It’s just that we can only select 26 to represent the team but make no mistake about it – there are outstanding leaders that weren’t on the pitch today but are leading in the shadows of this team.”
