Bury FC gets extra time to secure buyer
BURY FC were handed a last-minute stay of execution yesterday – but could fold next week.
Fans are hoping the cash-strapped League One club can be saved after bosses were given until Tuesday to secure a buyer.
The 134-year-old club, double winners of the FA Cup, cancelled its first six fixtures – and must play next week or be kicked out.
Owner Steve Dale accepted an offer from London-based consortium C&N Sporting Risk shortly before Friday’s deadline.
Bury North MP James Frith said: “The extension isn’t long enough with so much to be done.”
