FOXES FEAR REDS RAID
LEICESTER are bracing themselves for another Manchester United raid — this time for midfield star James Maddison.
The 22-year-old (above), who is expected to be named this week in
Gareth Southgate’s England squad, is wanted by Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he looks to continue the rebuild of his squad.
Maddison fits the identikit of the Norwegian’s future plans, young and bursting with energy, as Solskjaer looks to bring down the average age of his side.
But United know it will take another huge bid, similar to the £80million which secured central defender Harry Maguire’s switch from the King Power Stadium, to repeat the feat with Maddison.
Leicester, who have lofty ambitions of their own, will not want to part with the man they bought from Norwich for £20m. BIRGER MELING will be Kieran Tierney’s replacement at Celtic.
Rosenberg are playing down reports that their left-back will be on his way to Celtic Park next month.
The Norwegians have hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, but the 24-year-old is primed to join Neil Lennon’s side.
There has been plenty of chat that the defender, who has a contract with his club that lasts until 2020, is ‘on a list’ of possible Celtic targets.
But Mirrorsport understands the interest is far more concrete and a deal is already well down the line to getting done.
