Off the rich list? I’m Kylie unbothered...
Kylie Jenner reckons she couldn’t care less about Forbes dropping her from its billionaire list, saying she doesn’t “fixate” on cash.
The financial mag alleges
Kylie, 22, inflated the value of her make-up firm by faking tax returns so she could be named its youngest ever self-made billionaire last year.
And they claim her reality TV family the Kardashians went to “unusual lengths” to bump her up the rich list.
But Kylie, half-sister of Kim, hit back, telling her 33 million Twitter followers: “I can name a list of 100 things more important right now than fixating on how much money I have.”
But it has since been reported that Kylie and mum manager Kris, 64, are “definitely worried” about the controversy “tarnishing” their family’s reputation and any potential criminal investigations.
Controversy exploded around a deal for Kylie Cosmetics, where she sold a 51 per cent stake to make-up giant Coty for £486million in January.
Forbes claims information shared since by Coty shows Kylie’s firm is “significantly smaller and less profitable than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets to believe”.
The family told the magazine Kylie Cosmetics made £290million for 2018. But Coty says the figure was less than a third of that.
Forbes also claims reps for the family invited the list’s authors to one of their mansions to butter them up.
But make-up mogul Kylie brushed it off, saying: “I’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there.”
Despite the downgrade, Forbes says Kylie is still worth £730million.
