‘DANIEL’S BIG RISK AT £150M’

- EXCLUSIVE BY JOHN RICHARDSON Rodney Marsh was talking to The Old Spice Boys podcast out on Apple and Spotify and on Twitter @theoldspiceboys

RODNEY MARSH believes that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could be the big loser in football’s game of high stakes poker involving Harry Kane.

Marsh (below) says that Levy is playing a dangerous hand with his former club Manchester City over Kane, who is desperate to move to the Etihad. But Levy insists there is no compromise over the £150million

“There is a move in poker called ‘all in’. It’s when you get such a good hand you put all your chips in the middle and if somebody challenges you and you lose, you’re out. You go ‘all in’ because you think you are going to win.

“I think Daniel Levy has gone ‘all in’ on this deal. I think he has put everything on the line and the way it pans out if Daniel loses that will mean Harry Kane stays because he doesn’t get the money he wants.

“Now if that happens, he has lost all the money – he has lost £150 million. He has a player who has got the hump. He’s got the England captain who doesn’t want to be there. “So can you imagine the rest of this season and beyond if Harry now doesn’t move after Levy has played this hand, ‘Look if I don’t get the £150 million he stays with us’. I think that’s a case of ‘all in’ and that can always be a massive winner or loser.”

Marsh is a huge Kane fan, insisting the Spurs hitman is world class and would seal another Premier League title triumph for Pep Guardiola’s side.

“I think Harry Kane is one of the greatest goalscorers the world has ever seen,” said Marsh. “I’m not just talking about English football – in world football he is in the top 10 even when you think of all the top scorers.

“He will make the difference for

City because he will guarantee you 20-25 Premier League goals a season. And if City get him and get the goals, they will win the title again.”

But Marsh, who co-hosts ‘Grumpy Pundits’ on the US-based Sirius XM digital radio station, added that £100m City addition Jack Grealish is not a goalscorer.

“Jack won’t score 100 goals if he plays until he is 95. There is a massive difference between one who scores goals and one who doesn’t.”
