New Dermalogica store’s skincredible

Belfast flagship really is the cream of the crop

-

So I know I mentioned my first post-pandemic night out in two columns already, and this week I’m going to make it three times a charm as I m still reeling from how much fun I had. I was attending the opening of the new Dermalogica store in Belfast city centre and having seen what is in store firsthand, I can tell you that all future customers are in for a treat.

If you are familiar with the brand you will know that Dermalogica is one of the top players in skincare – and has been since it was founded in California in 1986.

It has a vast range of products including cleansers, exfoliants, toners, masques, eye treatments, and moisturizers, as well as an acne treatment line for teens – and a lot of them are cult favourites amongst beauty fans.

In the past, customers in Northern

Ireland have had to make do with buying their products from franchises, beauticians who specialise in Dermalogica or online.

We have never had the pleasure of being able to walk into a standalone store which sells all the brand’s top products – as well as testers for each one – so we can try before we buy.

There are in-store experts on hand to advise customers about if what they think they need, actually is what they need. They have all sorts of gadgets and gizmos to ehelp determine your skin type and any problem areas which need attention.

The fact is, disposable cash is hard-earned these days and skincare products are pricey, so it makes sense to invest in products which are going to make a difference and help you achieve the results you want.

As well as the complete range of beauty products from the brand, there is also a therapy room at the back of the store where you can book in for a facial any time of the day.

The girls informed me on the night that they are inundated with lunchtime appointments – and mostly from men – as people nip in for a treatment before they return to work.

And if it’s not a quick 30-min in-and-out facial you’re looking for and if you have a bit more time on your hands, there is a cute little seating area where you can listen to music and also an interview with Dermalogia founder Jane Wurwand while you wait. On the opening night, we were treated to snacks and prosecco, a Cool FM DJ set and there were plenty of smiles as we chatted to the Dermalogica ladies who are buzzing about their new place of work and are eager to treat the people of Belfast to a real luxurious experience right in the heart of the city.

And while it was nosecco for me since I was driving, I was buzzing too for two reasons. First, I was back out in the land of the living and it was hopefully the first of many events to come.

And secondly, I was buzzing to see something opening up in Belfast when so many other closures are taking place closy by. Again, hopefully this is the first of many new signs of life on our high street. Dermalogica Belfast is located at 7 Arthur Square.
