A clear conscience..

-

So today marks the first day of spring! Yay! This is the season when we start emerging from our nests and embrace the outdoors. But it is only when you go out into the fresh air that you realise just how cluttered and stuffy our homes are after a long Covid winter.

Therefore, many of us (me included) will be embarking on a spring clean when we finally get round to it as, if you’re anything like me, it is something you keep putting off.

So here is an incentive for you, tomorrow marks the first day of Spring Clearing Week. And professional organisers Claire and Lisa from Order In The

House are challenging the public to switch their spring clean to a spring clear to help bring calmness back to our lives.

Claire said, “The focus for this week is on people doing something positive with their unwanted items rather than just chucking them out, i.e. making them ‘count’ by donating, giving to someone in need, recycling etc.

“As well as the benefits of creating more space for themselves, this will hopefully give people an extra incentive to declutter as they’ll be doing good for the planet, their community and worthwhile causes.”

Claire and Lisa believe in starting small so they are asking followers to consider clearing 10 things a day over the course of the week.

They also provide weekly suggestions on their social channels as part of their #wastenotwednesday campaign where they signpost followers to local charities/initiatives that can benefit from or recycle preloved clothes, jewellery, electronics, unused make-up and toiletries etc. They also have a blog post on their website about giving back as you clear out, with more helpful suggestions about decluttering in a responsible and conscious way.

If decluttering seems overwhelming,

Claire and Lisa can help as they cover all of Northern Ireland and they have vouchers available to buy if you would like to gift their services as a Mother’s Day gift. For details email info@orderinthehouseni.com
