Dr Kinsella’s range is the cannabisness

Why CBD oil is the wonder ‘drug’ in products of celebrity doctor’s new beauty brand

Ijust love the summer evenings – when we finally get them that is. There is nothing nicer than going for a sunset stroll and taking the sights, sounds and smells of nature. However, the other week I only got to enjoy two out of the three as my nostrils – and temper – flared as I inhaled a smell which I hadn’t encountered since my early-20s.

Where I live, there is a green area near the sea where, since the pandemic, groups of teenagers and young people gather in groups to listen to music and watch the sun go down – and no doubt have a few swigs of beer from the bottles they have illegally smuggled in with them.

We’ve all done it, and as I pass them, I look on and smile.

But the other week I was walking behind a large group of lads. They were dressed respectably and quietly walking along. However, I was soon knocked by the intense smell of marijuana.

This nice group of respectable boys were getting high on a class b drug in a residential area in the early evening!

They didn’t give a hoot that everyone who was walking in their vicinity would be acutely aware of what they were doing.

They acted like it was the most natural thing in the world.

It brought me back to a holiday in Amsterdam, where I went with my school pals who, back in the day, were partial to the odd joint or two (not me. My drug of choice always was, and always will be, alcohol).

But back then, people had to travel 700 miles to be able to smoke freely in public. Never in a million years would you dream of sparking up in a residential area on a summer’s evening. But cannabis is everywhere. And while it is a problem in some aspects, in others it can be highly beneficial and effective in treating a range of ailments and health issues – particularly in the form of CBD oil.

It is derived from cannabis and is a type of cannabinoid, which are the chemicals naturally found in marijuana plants.

Even though it comes from marijuana plants, CBD doesn’t create a “high” effect or any form of intoxication – that’s caused by another cannabinoid, known as THC.

CBD has been proven to relieve the symptoms of chronic pain, epilepsy, arthritis and anxiety. And there are studies currently being carried out on its impact on Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and even cancer.

We await the outcome of such reserch with high hopes (no pun intended).

However, another area in which CBD is having a huge impact is the beauty industry.

And a range which has recently been brought to my attention is from Dr Martin Kinsella.

The leading Harley Street anti-ageing cosmetic doctor and dentist has launched Dr Kinsella Skin, a luxury skincare brand.

What I like about the range is there are only three products in it – an Eye Serum, (a weightless, ultra-hydrating serum that firms and brightens the skin around the eyes), a Glow Oil (lightweight and fast-absorbing, it firms, brightens and fights environmental damage) and a Face Cream (an ultra-hydrating cream that improves the appearance of fine lines).

What sets these products apart is that they are infused with 100mg of CBD and other highly concentrated ingredients designed to nourish, strengthen, enrich and hydrate the skin (by up to 124%) whilst reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dr Kinsella himself, says, “This brand is a long time in the making. “It was so important to me to harness the power of CBD and other key ingredients to create products which utilised its benefits correctly.

“We are offering a variety of skincare products which will be effective for so many skin concerns.

“The range is clinically studied, and effectively aids with wrinkling skin by nourishing and hydrating.

“I’m excited to watch everyone’s journeys as they try the range and see the results themselves.’ And as with all beauty brands right now, what is inside outside is just as important as what is inside and Dr Kinsella has ensured the trio of products today’s high natural and sustainable standards. He says, “The brand has a strong sense of key morals. It is free of parabens, talc and plastic microbeads and the brand is honest, transparent and provides detailed information about every ingredient included in the products.

“The brand is also free of synthetic, toxic chemicals or artificial colours – and depends on the healing properties found naturally in plants.

“Most of the packaging is made of glass which is highly recyclable and any cartons and plastic packaging are totally recyclable too.”

And for anyone who is a bit apprehensive about incorporating CBD into their beauty regime, Dr Kinsella has some words of reassurance.

He says, “Products formulated with CBD will not give you a ‘high’ because they do not contain THC, which is the chemical from marijuana.

“CBD is a non-intoxicating market favourite across the globe due to its benefits. It is a catalyst to rejuvenation, anti-inflammatory, anti-stress and a non-comedogenic (doesn’t block your pores) ingredient.

“CBD works in harmony with the other active ingredients for better and faster results.”

After several weeks of trying the range out for myself, I concur.

This is indeed a marvel ingredient which is going to revolutionise the beauty industry, and which you will see a lot more of in the ingredients list on the products of some of your favourite brands.

And, again no pun intended, I could easily get addicted to the results which I have been treated to. Plus, I’m hoping it will combat those frown lines which appear every time I pass a group of teens during my future summer evening walks.
