Curl up and Dyson with super stylers..

From hoovers to hair, brand’s cleaning up in both industries

-

So back in the day, when Dyson was just starting out, my mum insisted on spending an extortionate amount of money on one of their hoovers – because it looked good. It was one of the first models to be made and was, at the time, revolutionary as it didn’t need bags.

But what you saved on not having to buy bags, didn’t come close to matching the pricey price tag. And it was dear, especially for back then.

But Dyson has never worried much about asking a large sum for its products, I suppose because the engineers and designers behind the brand are so confident in their creations.

They are unparalleled, unrivaled and unlike anything else on the market.

Fast forward to the present and Dyson has become a global empire in not just hoovers, but hair products too.

It all started with the Supersonic Hairdryer which, again, was unlike any ever made before.

It is on average six times faster than other hair dryer motors and combined with Air Multiplier technology, it produces a high-pressure, highvelocity jet of controlled air, for fast drying and precision styling.

Unlike some others, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer measures air temperature over 40 times a second, and regulates the heat. This helps prevent extreme heat damage, to protect your hair’s shine. And, yet again, my mum was one of the first customers.

Now with my hair, I have never paid much attention to how a hairdryer dried it, as they always did it the same way in my eyes – until I gave her new Dyson a whirl the Christmas we gifted it to her.

And it was like all my Christmases came at once! I was walking out of her bedroom, but I could have easily been walking out of a hair salon as that’s how my home-dried hair looked. Like it was professionally done.

Then came the Dyson Straighteners – the only ones on the market with flexing copper plates that shape around your hair, gathering it neatly together on each pass.

This extra control means you can achieve the same style but with less heat – for half the damage and less colour fade.

It also means enhanced styling, for reduced frizz and fewer flyaways. It’s cordless and engineered for all hair types, with three precise heat settings – 165°C, 185°C and 210°C. And with intelligent heat control, regulating the temperature of the plates 100 times a second, it won’t exceed your chosen temperature.

And then there is the Airwrap, which in my opinion is the greatest of them all.

I have watched countless YouTube tutorials, asked several hairdressers to show me the way of the waves and I still couldn’t achieve the perfect loose curl look – until I got my hands on an Airwrap.

It literally does all the work for you. All you have to do is hold it to your head and let it suck in your hair, wrap it around its tong, release it and voila. Wave hello to a wavier-headied you!

Of course, all of these hair tools are the height of technology, hence the price tags for each, but if you think about all the money you will save on not having to get your hair professionally styled, it’s a no-brainer.

So my two pieces of advice are this:

1. Head to the Dyson show pod in Victoria Square in Belfast as you will get a tutorial on how to use these tools professionally – and trust me, you will need to be shown.

2. Do not hestitate to buy one. Dyson is the future or hair, and the your hair future starts now. www.dyson.co.uk
