Easy breezy does it for Paula Echevarria
Model’s collection for Primark is a shining example of Spanish style
So after a total washout of an Easter week, which I am more than happy to pretend never happened, I am focusing on summer, and apparently we’re about to get a taster as the weather is finally playing ball, even if it is too late for the kids to get out and actually play ball, which always seems to be the way during any holidays.
While it’s no fun for them being stuck indoors, it is just as joyless for us parents who are limited in our ideas to entertain them. But, hey, ho, they’re back in school now and, after all, they have a whole summer to look forward to – and we have a whole summer of entertaining to dread!
But this week is set to be a reminder that it is coming close to my twice-annual wardrobe switch and the days and weeks like the one we’re about to embark on, gets me back into the mindset of what I want and need to wear for summer.
Comfortable is definitely top of my list, followed by practical and cool coming a close third. I want to the the first two, but I also want that little bit of edge to my outfits, to prove that I haven’t given up and given in to dowdy mummy style... yet. I still like clothes and I still like being stylish and I still like people liking what I’m wearing.
So this summer, I have decided to be more Spanish – because that country’s style encapsulates all of the above. They know how to dress for their climate, and comfortable, practical and cool is also top of their list, but while they like to be cool in a literal way, they also somehow manage to be cool in the other sense too.
A perfect example of this can be seen through the new collection from Paula Echevarria for Primark. Never heard of her? Well, she’s a Spanish model and Insta influencer, but that’s not important.
What is important is she has brought out a comfortable, practical and cool range for summer so she has made my life a whole lot easier this season. So bring it on, but also, bring an umbrella as it is, after all, Northern Ireland, and not Spain.
