PRINCE Harry and Meghan are in talks over a Netflix documentary that will follow them as they visit communities in southern Africa.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who signed a $100million, five-year deal with the streaming giant in 2020, want the series to be a major project.

Sources say they want the focus of their Africa trip to be educational, with Meghan – mum to Prince Archie, three, and Princess Lilibet, one – keen to raise awareness of safe birth practices.

The couple are also expected to be filmed getting hands-on, helping to build houses in the villages they visit.

Prince Harry has visited southern Africa many times and set up children’s charity Sentebale in Lesotho.

A source said the documentary will be a project by Netflix and the couple’s Archewell Productions company as they “return to South Africa”.

They added: “The focus will be very much humanitarian. “The cameras will follow them as they visit compounds and share medical education. “Meghan is particularly keen to share information about giving birth safely with the women she meets. And the plan is they will also help with building houses and resources.”

Former actress Meghan this week signed with US talent agency WME.

Her agent, Jill Smoller, will also look after the Sussexes’ “content creation label” Archewell.

Earlier this month, Harry, 38, and

Meghan, 41, were forced to defend their non-profit Archewell Foundation after a Panorama-style programme in France revealed £7million of charitable gains was laying unused.

The couple outlined “three key pillars” for the foundation this year – “building a better world, restoring trust in information and uplifting communities”.
