We want unpaid tax back for good, Gary
At first I thought good for you Gary – if you can find a way of not paying as much tax then go for it as long as it’s legal. But now I just think he has a cheek putting off paying it back. If Gabby Logan can pay it then so can he. Pay up Gary, it’s not as though you can’t afford it! Janet Davies Falmouth, Cornwall Deliberately evading tax is unlawful, which is why there’s a custodial sentence if caught and brought to justice. The reason people avoid tax is because there are loopholes using off- shore tax schemes, which the Tories don’t care about because their donors use them. If you were not a Tory donor and deliberately evaded tax, you would be brought to justice. Daryl Major, Facebook When I reached the grand old age of 80 my pension was increased by 25p. A reminder quickly followed from Inland Revenue telling me not to forget to include this increase on future tax forms. If Sam Williamson Hove, East Sussex the powers that be are so interested in the tax on 25p, how do Gary Barlow and associates get away with it? Bob Lucas Northampton Working-class people get sanctioned for avoiding tax but when celebrities do it we’re supposed to ignore it. It’s a disgrace. They want the book throwing at them. This country is struggling and “thieves” like these make things worse. Katie May Fairweather Lincoln Shame
on them! Vote
Labour and make them pay. It is disgusting
when there are people in this country starving from sanctions and the disabled being punished for being disabled. Ellie Davis, Facebook In my opinion [ Take That] do not owe anything as when they joined this scheme it was legal. It was only when the tax companies realised they could make money out of investors that they got the Government to change the law towards the scheme. It is just another chance to rip people off. What about all the MPs with accounts abroad? David Edwards Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff Have the Tories acknowledged this? Of course not! As Gary Barlow supported the party at the last election, why would they? Yet this Government lets people use food banks, be victims of the Bedroom Tax and get themselves into huge debts. This system is so corrupt and something needs to be done to stop it. Gina Farrell Liverpool Ed Miliband has said the issue of rent control is on Labour’s agenda should they get into power. Perhaps another idea would be to impose housing benefit limits on properties that are ex local authority homes. It is a sad irony that many properties sold under the Right to Buy scheme are now rented out by speculators who have bought them cheaply and are now charging high rents. These are often being subsidised by the councils who sold them. This cannot be morally or financially right. Diane Silva Lytham, Lancs I have great sympathy for young gymnast Dina Amos-Larkin who has been left paralysed after falling four floors from a hotel balcony in Spain. The trauma she must have suffered following this fall, to then be told she is paralysed from the neck down must have been heartbreaking for her. She is so brave to be able to talk so openly about her tragic accident saying how hard it is to come to terms with knowing she will never walk again. I wish her all the best – what a courageous young lady. Sally Jones Westminster, Central London Regarding the awful story of the young girl who was saved from a sinking refugee boat after fleeing child kidnappers and Islamic State butchers. It is a terrible shame that children have to go through such horrific ordeals in this day and age. I do hope they get her and her family to a country that is safe where they are able to live normal lives. Carla Mitchell, Facebook Simon Cowell must think the public are so gullible after his “stage- acted” dog hypnotist [on Britain’s Got Talent]. The fact that Simon would never allow himself to be hypnotised on TV was a big giveaway. Les Morris Waltham Forest, NE London
