Driver ‘got death threats’ after ambulance abuse
A FORMER Manchester United star was arrested yesterday on suspicion of drink-driving after a four-car smash was captured on camera.
Darron Gibson – who now plays for Championship side Sunderland – is pictured above being put into a police car following the pile-up.
Witnesses said the Black Cats midfielder’s black Mercedes was in collision with four cars on a snowy road not far from the club’s Stadium of Light ground.

The incident happened only three hours before Gibson’s team kicked off a 2-0 home loss to Preston North End.
Gibson, 30, a married dad-of-two, is currently out of the side injured.
A passer-by, who took these exclusive photos, said: “I must have got there right after it happened as the police arrived 30 seconds later.

Anderson, 50, called her a “f***ing idiot” and told one paramedic “I’ve got your reg” .
He admitted causing harassment, alarm or distress with intent last November when he appeared before Warrington magistrates. Prosecutor Adam Warner said: “He stated he was very loud and he could come across as aggressive.”
His lawyers claimed he and his family had received death threats after a video of the confrontation went viral on social media.
Gary Heaven, defending, said the case would not have ended up in court if a neighbour had not filmed it on her mobile. It was adjourned till Tuesday for reports.
Anderson said after the hearing: “My use of language was not acceptable and I understand and apologise for this.
“The NHS do an amazing job. I understand they needed to park where they did. I just wish that I hadn’t reacted in the way I had.”
