Hammers buzzing to Bridge gap

-

THERE’LL be many warm tears shed for dear Ray Wilkins at Stamford Bridge today – but Chelsea could struggle to give Butch a three-point salute.

West Ham fans are probably all cried out after their miserable season.

What with the curse of the Boris Blunderdome, and the ongoing feud between fans and the Dildo Brothers, the Cockney franchise outlet has got more problems than you can shake a set of vibrating love eggs at.

But getting a proper buzz up for a London derby doesn’t seem to be one of them.

With a W2 D4 L2 record against capital clubs in all competitions this season – including beating Chelsea 1-0 in the reverse fixture – the Hammers have plenty of reasons to be optimistic heading to the Bridge (4.30pm).

As it stands, Chelsea look too short at the general 1/4. Yes, there’s clear daylight between the sides, but the Blues are busy bringing the curtain down on Antonio Conte, and that’s making things murkier.

Chelsea have won five games out of 19 (90mins) in 2018, have little hope of catching Tottenham in fourth and are scheduled for regime change this summer.

This looks very much like the start of a Premier League warm-down lap for the home side. In a World Cup year, and with LONGSHOT chasers have two value options at Chelsea (4.30pm) — one if you fancy goals and one if you don’t.

Assuming he starts, Antonio Rudiger (left) is a good fit for West Ham’s set-piece vulnerability. Get on Chelsea’s attack-minded Germany defender at 9/1 (Fred) ‘anytime scorer’.

Or bet the 18/1 (Bet365) that Chelsea record their sixth ‘no goalscorer’ result of the season, and fourth at home.

Punt both? They can’t touch you for it.
