Girl, 13, can keep baby news secret

Sunday Mirror - - FRONT PAGE -

A GIRL who became pregnant at the age of 13 has won the right to keep news of her baby secret from the teenage father.

The young mum, now almost 15, says the boy – believed to be aged 16 – would harass her if he knew she had given birth.

Her lawyers say she wants the baby girl adopted, but her chances of returning to normality would be “dashed” if the boy found out.

They claimed telling him would breach her privacy.

Mr Justice Cohen, at the High Court in Newcastle, said a combination of factors made it inappropriate for the boy to be informed of the birth.
