Family letter to help catch cabbie killer

- BY STEPHEN HAYWARD

THE devastated daughter of a murdered cabbie has written an open letter to his “barbaric” killer.

The appeal came on the second anniversary of Carl O’Brien’s death, as police renewed a £20,000 reward to help get a conviction.

Dad-of-two Carl, 55, was attacked outside his home in Wallington, South London, two years ago. He died from his head injuries.

His family was joined by murder squad detectives handing out the letter to shoppers and commuters.

In it, daughter Laura says: “He was the best dad – gentle, kind and a good role model.

“You left him for dead. You ran away like the coward you are. If your aim was to cause heartbreak, devastation and misery, you achieved this aim.”
