Pig organs in heart op hope

Pig hearts could soon be transplanted into people after scientists ran successful trials with baboons. Two monkeys were kept alive for more than six months following the heart ops – three times longer than the previous record.

Experts say the research success, published in the journal Nature, could lead to similar procedures on human patients.
