Fears British cocaine pair ‘would flee’
COCAINE cruise suspects Roger and Sue Clarke have been locked up on remand in Portugal because they are a “flight risk”, prosecutors have said.
The expats – held after coke worth £2million was allegedly found in their cases – were also refused bail over fears they would tamper with evidence.
And yesterday it emerged Roger, 72, and wife Sue, 70, were once jailed in Norway for trafficking 260kg of marijuana.
Roger got five years while Sue got four after they were seen taking the drug from secret compartments in their car in 2005.
The Kent couple, who now live in Guardamar, near Alicante, Spain, were arrested earlier this month as they returned from a Caribbean cruise.
