Henry VIII 8p note for £20k

A LETTER from Henry VIII has been sold for £20,000 at auction in London.

The note, thought to be written in 1541, is signed Henry R and bears the remains of a wax seal.

It orders the appointment of a master gunner to Hull’s garrison, on wages of eight pence a day.
