New painless prostate scan

Thousands of men at risk of prostate cancer will be spared painful biopsies and surgery thanks to a breakthrough scan.

Special MRI scans will now be offered to prostate cancer sufferers as they are 12 per cent more effective at finding tumours than standard biopsies – where tissue samples are taken surgically.
