A classic piece of roadside Americana, Cadillac Ranch is a public art installati­on near Amarillo, Texas.

It was created in 1974 by the New Orleans art group Ant Farm, who half-buried 10 Cadillacs nose-first in the Texan soil. Amarillo is renowned for the Is This the Way song by Tony Christie, and Cadillac Ranch was a Bruce Springstee­n single.

But if you want to impress your friends, tell them Amarillo was known as the Helium Capital of the World. Tell them in a squeaky voice...
