FA blow chance to spike diving Guns

ONE of the most startling football stories from last weekend went relatively underexposed.

Arsenal had THREE players booked for diving in the same game.

And referee Paul Tierney (below) was spot on with each of the cautions.

But where was the FA with the follow-up punishment for the Gunners?

If a group of players surround a referee in an overly aggressive way, the club can be charged.

Rightfully so.

But if the disciplinary people are serious about cracking down on simulation, if they are serious about getting tough with the conmen, this was a perfect chance to make a point.

Because if the festival of playacting at the Emirates was not a case of a club failing to control its players,
