TRAIN STABBING VICTIM IS

HEARTBROKEN relatives told how train murder victim Lee Pomeroy was killed as he and his son headed off to spend “quality time” together.

The father of one was stabbed multiple times in front of his 14-year-old lad.

Family said the attack – a day before Lee’s 52nd birthday – was “pointless”.

They described Lee as “devoted, honest, honourable” and said he would “always help someone in trouble”.

Relatives issued the statement hours after a man, 35, and a woman, 27, were arrested in a dawn raid at housing association flats in Farnham, Surrey – less than 15 miles from the murder scene.

He was held on suspicion of murder and she was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Armed cops smashed down the front door just before 6am yesterday. Neighbours later said there had been complaints about antisocial behaviour involving the pair.

Lee was attacked on Friday after he and his son boarded the 12.58pm train from their home town Guildford to London Waterloo. Police say an altercation started between him and another man and continued for three minutes.

Onlookers said the argument may have been triggered by the pair bumping into one another before boarding. The dispute moved into the next carriage, where Lee was stabbed. The knifeman fled at Clandon, the next station.

TRIBUTE

Police evidence markers were later placed on a bloodied gate close by.

Lee was declared dead by paramedics at Horsley station at 1.15pm. Witnesses said police tried to save him with CPR.

His shattered family paid tribute in a statement, saying: “Lee took his son on a trip to London hoping to spend some quality time with him, which was cut short by a horrific and pointless attack.

“Lee would have had his birthday today but did not get to see his presents.

“He was an honest, bright person, who
