Rape charge cop in luxury paradise digs
A BRITISH policeman has been given plush digs while awaiting trial for rape in the Caribbean.
PC Lee Martin-Cramp, 25, is accused of attacking a student while attending a family wedding on Antigua three years ago.
The Met Police officer tried to block his extradition on the grounds that conditions in the island’s jail were inhumane.
So Antigua agreed he can live in an ex-US air base with air-conditioning, a fridge, and en-suite bathroom while on remand for his trial later this month.
Chief magistrate Emma Arbuthnot said: “The conditions were satisfactory, to say the least.”
