Katie, who wept in court when she saw film footage of herself being run over, said she wanted him to experience the pain she has suffered “just for one day”, adding: “I want him to know how he affected my life. Not sleeping for pain, not being able to walk properly, having to take medication all the time.” Katie was left with a limp, still uses crutches and has been warned the pelvic injury could affect her fertility.

She added: “Blake’s was a good place to go and I felt safe there. I didn’t see Abdul in the club at all that night. The first time I saw him was in court.”

Boyfriend Billy, who at first thought the car rampage was a terrorist attack, said of Abdul: “He is just a loser. Hopefully he will also realise the impact this has had on his own family.”
