He had de­nied the charges but was found guilty at a re­trial.

Ju­rors heard he had drunk at least 15 vod­kas, tequila shots and had up to 10 spliffs of cannabis.

Katie, who wept in court when she saw film footage of her­self be­ing run over, said she wanted him to ex­pe­ri­ence the pain she has suf­fered “just for one day”, adding: “I want him to know how he af­fected my life. Not sleep­ing for pain, not be­ing able to walk prop­erly, hav­ing to take med­i­ca­tion all the time.” Katie was left with a limp, still uses crutches and has been warned the pelvic in­jury could af­fect her fertility.

She added: “Blake’s was a good place to go and I felt safe there. I didn’t see Ab­dul in the club at all that night. The first time I saw him was in court.”

Boyfriend Billy, who at first thought the car ram­page was a ter­ror­ist at­tack, said of Ab­dul: “He is just a loser. Hope­fully he will also re­alise the im­pact this has had on his own fam­ily.”
