School dorm shut in fears over pupils
A PRIVATE school for autistic children has been told to shut its residential care unit because of safeguarding concerns.
The closure order comes after an Education Department warning of “serious regulatory failings”.
An Ofsted inspection at 33- pupil Cruckton Hall School near Shrewsbury had highlighted fears over teaching standards, pupil welfare and leadership.
Now Shropshire Council is trying to find accommodation for the 20 children who boarded there.
One parent said he was not surprised at the decision and claimed the school’s management was not fit for purpose.
The school said it is working to the address the problems “quickly and thoroughly”.
