Instagram is packed with revealing shots in swimwear, thigh-high boots and mini dresses. “She and Mandi got slated for wearing revealing clothes back when we met,” Naman says. “Now you see glamorous girls everywhere, but then it had only just started in London.
“It was before the whole contouring, big lips and lashes. Kim Kardashian was new and Anna and Mandi were the British version. Now if you go on Instagram all the girls look the same. Back then, they didn’t. That’s why I looked up to them. They were trendsetters. They were being themselves and I needed to do that too.”
Both were academically bright. Anna was studying to be a pharmacist at university while Mandi was doing a law degree.
Mandi now works as a make-up artist for the brand Nars while Anna worked in a chemist in Ascot before entering the Love Island villa. Does Naman, who now lives in Uxbridge, West London, think his pal can win? “I really think she could,” he says. “But she’s a winner to me, no matter what happens.”
