Instagram is packed with revealing shots in swimwear, thigh-high boots and mini dresses. “She and Mandi got slated for wearing revealing clothes back when we met,” Naman says. “Now you see glamorous girls everywhere, but then it had only just started in London.

“It was before the whole contouring, big lips and lashes. Kim Kardashian was new and Anna and Mandi were the British version. Now if you go on Instagram all the girls look the same. Back then, they didn’t. That’s why I looked up to them. They were trendsetters. They were being themselves and I needed to do that too.”

Both were academically bright. Anna was studying to be a pharmacist at university while Mandi was doing a law degree.

Mandi now works as a make-up artist for the brand Nars while Anna worked in a chemist in Ascot before entering the Love Island villa. Anna has had one serious two-year relationTHE uncle of Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard has jumped to his defence, saying he’s “a good lad”. Curtis, 23, has been slammed for breaking up with Amy Hart, 26, on the ITV2 show.

She needed therapy after the dancer – ship, and Naman says when she declared in the villa that she goes for personality, she is telling the truth. “Ovie is her type on paper – he’s taller, he has his life together – but I do think she’ll get back with Jordan,” Naman says. “She’s picky with men’s backbrother of Strictly pro AJ – dumped her. The show is keen to protect contestants after the suicide of Islanders Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.

Phil Pritchard, 71, said: “For Amy to say Curtis is a compulsive liar is unfair – he is a good lad, he would not intentionally hurt anybody.” grounds, attitudes, the way they treat women. She’s family orientated.”

Speaking about 28-year-old Anna’s bust-up with Amber’s former flame Michael, Naman adds: “A lot of viewers who criticised her have clearly not had loyal friends to stick up for them.

“All Anna is doing is sticking up for Amber. Michael made out he was in it for the long haul with Amber and that’s why Anna’s having her back.”

Does Naman, who now lives in Uxbridge, West London, think his pal can win? “I really think she could,” he says. “But she’s a winner to me, no matter what happens.”
