CPS launches new ‘Cinders’ death probe
THE case of a “Cinderella” girl who hanged herself is being re-examined.
The CPS said new police evidence into the death of Amber Peat, 13 – who died in 2015 after a row over chores – “will need to be reviewed in full”.
Earlier this year, an inquest heard allegations the girl suffered emotional abuse and that stepdad Danny Peat gave “severe punishments”, including cleaning floors at 11.30pm.
Amber also claimed she was forced to wear jogging bottoms to school to be “humiliated”.
Mr Peat denies this, but Amber’s real dad Adrian Cook said: “I’m hoping to get justice for my girl.”
