Jen ‘wanted £1kto speak’

EX-model Jennifer Arcuri tried to charge nearly £1,000 to speak in Parliament, it has been claimed.

boris Johnson’s former pal is said to have agreed several months in advance to speak for free at a cyber debate for young professionals which took place in early 2017.

but at the eleventh hour she allegedly threatened to pull out unless paid £1,000 to attend. A source who tried to organise the event said: “The whole thing was just sophistry. It seems that she realised she could try and charge high fees because of the profile boris had helped her build.”

The source, confirming Miss Arcuri did not speak, added: “Everybody was furious. They were dismayed she couldn’t make it after boris had helped her out. She had agreed in advance, then wanted a fee.”

Mr Johnson was London Mayor when he met Ms Arcuri and spoke for free at a series of events she hosted.

Ms Arcuri was asked for comment but had not responded last night.
