There’s more wet weather on the way...

HEAVY rain caused chaos yesterday – and more wet weather is on the way.

Trains between Carlisle and Newcastle were delayed by flooding in Brampton, Cumbria, while police shut a slip road to the M65 at Burnley.

A mudslide in North Yorkshire blocked Skipton to Lancaster rail journeys and racing at Haydock, Merseyside, was called off after the course flooded.

Today, Devon and Cornwall face 50mph gales and up to 40mm of rain is due to fall in Liverpool , Manchester, Swansea, Bangor and Cardiff.

The first Regatta London on the River Thames has also been cancelled.
