The judges’ verdict

The standard of entries this year was incredibly high and there were some tough choices for the judging panel.

The Herts & Essex Community Farm stood out as somewhere we would like to visit ourselves.

It offers so much — a beautiful space used by so many different groups of people. There is a real focus on nature and wildlife and there are some other unexpected treats too — a play area, a mini library and somewhere for barbecues. It is regularly used by school groups and local charities and hosts everything from yoga classes to music festivals.

There really is something for everyone and you get a sense of just how important this is to the local community. A well-deserved winner!
