Dinamo: We don’t fear City
DINAMO ZAGREB hotshot Mislav Orsic has warned Manchester City: ‘We believe in miracles.’
The message from lethal Orsic, who smashed a hat-trick in his club’s opening 4-0 Champions League romp over Atalanta, comes ahead of Tuesday’s potentially daunting trip to the Etihad.
While accepting Pep Guardiola’s Premier League holders are one of the tournament’s big favourites, the new Croatia international insists the visitors can still cause a major upset.
Orsic, 26, declared: “If we didn’t believe in miracles, we wouldn’t be travelling to England.
“We are aware of the strength of our next Champions League opponents but we have enough confidence in our own capabilities.
“We know we need our best game so far and City to have a bad evening – and then much, much luck. But we still believe we can produce a wonder result.
“Whoever loves football loves watching Manchester City.
“However, despite their quality, they are not from another planet. I am convinced we’ll provide resistance worthy of the Dinamo shirt. Will that be enough? We’ll see after 90 minutes.”
The Croatian champions, with 21 league titles since 1993, underlined their class a fortnight ago by destroying Serie A minnows Atalanta.
And in bagging his first treble in Europe’s most prestigious club competition, Orsic served notice of his growing reputation.
