Lions smash and Grabara

-

Lions countered, while at the other end England Under-21 international Trevoh Chalobah headed straight at Bialkowski.

Connor Mahoney saw his deflected left-foot strike saved by Grabara and then Jed Wallace curled a shot inches wide.

But Campbell pounced moments later, latching on to Grant’s deft pass and lashing low into the bottom right corner.

Polish keeper Grabara pulled off a stunning one-handed save to tip Leonard’s right-foot rocket from distance over his bar, but less than a minute later the 20-year-old turned from hero to villain after failing to collect Mahoney’s delivery and Smith gladly mopped up the mess.

Leonard blazed over just before the break before the hosts had their penalty appeals waved away by referee Jeremy Simpson.

Grant went down in the box after a challenge from Shaun Williams and then substitute Adama Diakhaby went sprawling after contact with Jake Cooper.

Northern Irishman Ferguson was dismissed in the dying stages for hauling down Diakhaby, but the visitors held on for a welcome point.

Lions manager Neil Harris said “We dug in and scrapped hard with 10 men. A point was the least we deserved. I was worried about their second penalty shout, but if we have got away with one then we deserved that.”
