Ono, it’s Bakayoko!
DARREN MOORE called high-flying Coventry the best team his Donny side have come up against this season.
Moore’s outfit became the first side to take points off the Sky Blues at their new St Andrew’s home, but they almost claimed all three after taking a first-half lead through captain Ben Whiteman (right).
That goal saw Rovers leading until the 89th minute, when Coventry substitute
Amadou Bakayoko struck a dramatic equaliser to keep
City’s unbeaten start to the season intact. “It’s always disappointing to concede late on,” said Moore. “They are the best team that we’ve played, no doubt about it.
“We knew it would be difficult and they showed their never-say-die attitude to score at the end.
“I just thought if we got the second goal it would have taken the game away from them.”
Mark Robins’ side squandered a host of chances before needing Bakayoko’s last-ditch equaliser to get something from the game.
The Coventry boss said: “We can be pleased because of the lateness of the goal and the way we’ve come back.”
