GA GARY KIRSTEN has em emerged as a prime t target to become t the next England head coach – if he can be persuaded to m make a return to inte international cricket.

The 51-year-old So South African is the mo most highly regarded coa coach across the globe a and England team director Ashley Giles would be keen t to see Kirsten replace Tr Trevor Bayliss (below), the head coach who helped Eng England win the World Cup this su summer but stepped down after the Ashes.

That achievement ach is also on Kirsten’ Kirsten’s CV, guiding India to triumph in 2011.

But he h has restricted himself to w work with clubs in T20 franch franchise leagues in recent yea years. Kirsten may be t tem tempted to work w with England in short-form cricket, with the T20 World Cup n next year.
