2 unseen plays by comic to hit stage

- BY ED GLEAVE

COMIC Les Dawson is making a comeback – 26 years after he died.

Widow Tracy is in talks to stage two previously unseen plays the star wrote.

She said: “Les wrote a lot of scripts before he died and there are two plays that still haven’t been used.

“One of them is a comedy. It’s set in a joke shop where they make silly wigs and stuff. It’s very funny.

“We need to bring both plays up to date but the one-liners are there. We’ve got ideas.”

Plans have been in the pipeline for months now and Tracy, 69, is already in advanced talks with industry experts. She added: “I’ve been speaking g to an agent about making it happen. Th There’s loads to do.

“We need to get a producer and a director w who will take it on.”

It is even hoped that Les’s daught daughter Charlotte, 27, will be able to star in one of the pl plays. Tracy said: “I’ve said t to Charlotte we should NINE canines pose in an experiment by Aussie snappers to mimic dogs in passport photos. Peanut butter was used to get the pooches’ attention – hence the lip-licking. And it made for a nice spread of pictures. get this done. It would be great if she could perform in one of her dad’s plays. That would be wonderful. I would just love that so much.”

Charlotte – who was eight months when Les died in 1993, aged 62 – has followed in his footsteps by becoming a TV star. She has been a firm fixture on reality shows for years now and is a presenter on MTV dating show Love Squad, which airs on Mondays at 8.30pm.
