YouTube war on flytippers is a clear win
YOUTUBE videos of litter louts dumping rubbish have slashed flytipping by nearly a third.
Around 250 offenders have been filmed by mobile CCTV dumping furniture and other household items on housing estates in East London.
The worst cases have been featured in a series of fortnightly YouTube films.
At least 28 people have been fined up to £400, and fly-tipping has dropped by 30 per cent since the crackdown was launched by Barking and Dagenham council last year.
Keep Britain Tidy charity said: “Throwing a spotlight on the thoughtless minority who seem to think it is okay to treat our streets as a rubbish dump is something that we welcome.”
